So as far as the testing they did, I can clearly see what they were going after but I think the process is flawed.
While they were testing the distracted driving theory they were put through a mental obstacle course while they drove through a a real one. The distracted driver is being pestered with riddles and word games, not normal conversation. While they were making the drunken drive they were able to concentrate completely, or as completely as possible, on the course. Imagine the drunk driver being pestered the same way as the distracted driver.
